Join us for an evening of art and discussion with award-winning photographer Alison Wright and BRAC USA President & CEO Donella Rapier at Tides Foundation, as they recall stories of empowered women worldwide.

With the backdrop of a powerful photographic showcase, Alison will talk about her travels to Liberia, Sierra Leone, South Sudan, Tanzania, and Uganda to document the lives of people supported by BRAC. Donella will examine trends in international development and the progress being made to achieve gender equity worldwide – as well as the challenges ahead.

Women at Work: Photography exhibition

Women are the resilient, hard-working backbones of their communities around the world. In this photography exhibition, BRAC, the world’s largest international development organization, showcases the remarkable stories of magnetic women in sub-Saharan Africa whose perseverance is often overlooked.

From South Sudan to Sierra Leone, these documentary portraits, of women and girls living in post-conflict or hard-to-reach areas, illuminate a shared determination to create better futures for their families through their creativity, ingenuity, and drive.

Drinks and opening from 5pm.
Discussion will begin at 6pm.

Supported by the MasterCard Foundation.
